HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO CONCIEVE, OR AM I ALREADY PREGNANT?

I have had the implant for 14 months before having it removed half way through a period. I had sex the day after it was removed (whilst still on my period) my period has slowed down - to only a few spots of blood- and then had sex 2 days after. What is the likelyhood that i am pregnant? me and my partner really really want to concieve asap. we cannot wait! i should probably add that so far, (one week after implant removal and since i first had unprotected sex) the only symptoms have been odd feelings in my abdominal area and faint nausea. Thanks! :)

Pretty low, to be honest. Though not impossible.

Hi.

The chances of sex during your period making you pregnant are very slim, I'm afraid. Try a pregnancy test 2 weeks after you last had unprotected sex to rule out pregnancy though.

You kind of have two choices with trying to conceive....

  1. relax, have loads of sex (maybe go on holiday together?)

  2. find out a bit more about your body, learn how to read its signs and 'target' sex at the right time

If you go for option 2, have a look at this: Fertility Friend. It tells you all about what to look out for.

Whichever way you do it, have fun!

Thanks guys. I've worked out on an average 28 day cycle that my ovulation should be in 5/6 days. But with the implant taken out at what i call the beginning of my cycle (despite my period starting a week beforehand) what are the chances of an egg being released this month?

Have a look at that link I sent you... working off the 'average' cycle won't be much use!

I got pregnant with my DS a week after taking out my implant, so it can happen, but you need to look out for signs your body is ovulating.
