Ttc after mc

I mc in dec, it came away naturally and bleeding lasted for about a week an a half after.

We decided to get right back on ttc straight away. I am wondering how long I need to wait to take a pregnancy test or when to anticipate my period.

I have read 4-6 weeks, but is this from the mc or from when the bleeding stopped?

Does anyone have any experience here that they can share?

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss and hope that you and your body are recovering at the pace you'd like. I too miscarried in dec (on Christmas day) at 8 weeks. It was a natural miscarriage and I bled for exactly 2 weeks, albeit with the help of a couple of tablets to assist with the passing of a small amount of retained product. I thought i was ovulating (EWCM, twinges) on monday but then I had reflexology with a fertility/pregnancy specialist on tues evening and started bleeding on Wednesday which was 24 days after miscarrying and 10 days after I stopped bleeding. This period is pretty heavy but roughly similar to my normal periods. My reflexologist tells me that reflex helps to reset your body so I guess that's why I came on so soon, who knows?! Like you we're getting on with trying again so I'm delighted that my periods have returned. Hope that helps and you conceive again soon.

HiSmile

So sorry to hear of your MCSad I believe you can start TTC straight away but it is better to wait until after the first AF after MC. I have been there a number of times myself and I understand how you must be feeling Sad I have recently joined a group on here called the "mosh pit" and the ladies there have all been through similar and are TTC after their MC. Have a look as support, whether online or IRL is really important to get through this.

Hi. So sorry to hear of your loss. It is a horrible experience. I miscarried on Jan 5th (7wks). I bled for a week and had nasty cramps. 10 days after 1st day of bleeding I had a negative preg test. I feel ok and we want to try again asap. No idea when my next period will come. I'm expecting it earlier from what other mums have spoken about. I counted the days and we are ttc at guessed fertile days. I t will be a miracle if it happens this month but we had to start trying. Too impatient!!!! I had hormone checks 48hrs in between and I went from 900 to 300 in those hrs. If you are ready I'd do a home test and then wait for next period if you want more accuracy with dating. I'm finding the emotional side is kicking in more now. Take care of yourself and lots of best wishes.

I am also so sorry to hear of your loss. I had a MMC at 15 weeks in April and it took 9 long weeks for my AF to come back, I was desperate for it to return! I found it very frustrating as lots of 'helpful' people told me you're really fertile after a MC, but it took me quite a few cycles for everything to settle down and I've only just got a BFP again.

However - one of my best friends had a MC and then fell pregnant a matter of weeks afterwards with her gorgeous oldest boy. She had another MC a few years later and once again fell pregnant straight away without AF in between with another beautiful boy. So I guess everyone is different, and hopefully things will happen for you sooner rather than later.

I found getting over the MMC very hard emotionally so if you can try and relax and take care of yourself at this difficult time, and I really hope you have some happy news soon. I will have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks all and so sorry to hear of your losses also. I hope we are all posting with good news soon.

Mine was also a mmc, 13 weeks. Emotionally, I took it pretty hard and I still shed a tear on occasion when triggered by the right conversation or event, but I have had loads of support and Although I feel sad for our loss, I feel good about the idea of getting pg again. Plus I am not getting any younger!!

From everything I have read, here and elsewhere, every woman and situation is different. It has been 31 days since my mc and 21 since the bleeding ceased. My normal cycle used to be about 30 days.

I have heard many stories of ladies that have conceived immediately following a mc and although I did not think I could be that lucky, the closer I got to the anticipated date for my period, the more optimistic I have been feeling. I am also concerned about how I will feel if/when my period does come.

I think I will probably take a test tomorrow morning. At least then, I will know either way and if I am not pg then I can get drunk guilt free when we go out for Chinese new year! I will let you know how it goes.

In the same boat as you babybun had ERPC for MMC on 6th Jan. Bleeding stopped after about 4 days and we have tried straight away. I was advised to wait 1 cycle but the hell with that I am 41 ! I fell for DD 8 days after having an ectopic and loosing a tube. I was waiting for period to return and then started feeling sick, couldn't believe it. So I am pinning my hopes on falling quickly again.
Off on holiday two weeks monday so have decided to do PT before I go just to be on the safe side.
Good luck to you all, fingers crossed.

Did the test, negative.
Feeling pretty gutted, I have had my cry but now I need to dust myself off and focus on getting it right next time.
Although now I have to anticipate a period. It is frustrating after 20 years of being able to predict to the day to having no idea when it's coming.
Still have niggling thoughts that perhaps the test might be too early to tell, I got a false neg last time and then started feeling sick 5 days later.
There is no mental relief in this ttc malarkey is there!
Good luck Heels and the rest of you. X
