Hello All,

Looking for some hand holding really (first time starting a thread so apologies for any errors or poor etiquette!).

I'm 33, TTC for the first time but have crazy irregular cycles (30 to 46 days) - was planning on starting BBT charts and trying luck with tests (cycle so unpredictable, so no idea when would be a good time).

Last AF was 7 Oct. A little over a week ago though I starting having slight nausea that lasted for a couple of days then a day of feeling very nauseous. The next day nausea disappeared and I started getting weird cramps that got more intense over 3-4 days. Didn't feel like AF cramps, too soon I expect anyway but in the same region. Got a bit excited and tested (First Response) but got BFN twice :(

No cramps now, just a little ache yesterday lower abdominal area. Felt a little sick when I bent over to pick up some stuff but nothing major anymore.

Thought maybe change in diet/ vitamins/ quitting smoking may be causing nausea? Not sure about mystery cramps, maybe just got bumped a bit while going at it TTC.

Since I haven't any idea when AF is to be expected I'm not sure what to do. Waiting now for unreliable AF....and trying now to spend more money on (wishful thinking) tests.

Any words of wisdom?

I found my cycles really irritating too (28-40). The key to knowing when af is due is working out when you are ovulating, then the length of time from ovulation to your period arriving probably is the same. I used clear blue fertility monitor but I think that only works for cycles up to 42 days. I also find that acupuncture gives me 28 day cycles. On the positive side I had exactly the symptoms you describe with this pregnancy about 4 days before AF was actually due so you.never know!

I think slightly irregular periods are pretty common tbh.

Hi Watercolor

I think that charting your temperature is a really good idea, particularly if you have irregular cycles. Also - maybe TMI question - do you get much EWCM? That should be a good indicator of your most fertile period.

Good luck!

Oh, and just to add - I always have nausea during my 2ww and sometime am actually sick. Of course, at the start I was convinced that it was a pregnancy symptom, but now I know that it's just a 2ww symptom! Dr Google seems to suggest that progesterone can cause nausea/sickness but I don't know how true that is.

Thank you for the response Imps7!
A 2ww symptom? Oh dear! So basically the result of wishful thinking, eh? I've never had these symptoms before, but I guess lately with all the TTC stuff going on it is on my mind more so you may be right. sigh Am really not looking forward to the charting, consistency is not my strong suit. But where there's a will...

Okay - the cramps are making me crazy since I don't usually get them except for the day of my period - and it's been over a week now with some serious discomfort. Going to head over to the doctor tomorrow and hope it's not something off with the lady-parts like an infection or something :(
