TTC after MC but before follow-up scan??

Just had MC :( bleeding just finishing up and I wanted to start TTC straight away. The follow up scan at the EPU isn't until 10th Nov though...

Would it be stupid to ttc before the scan, knowing that there is always the risk that not everything came out and I will need some sort of follow-up?

Anyone been in this position? Any advice on what to do?

Im in the same position as you, will be waiting for follow up scan and a negative pregnancy test , dont want too much confusion over dates etc if im lucky enough to fall pregnant again! good luck!

Thanks, frazzled. Good luck to you too. When's your scan?

I guess the worst scenario is that I conceive but the scan shows that there is stuff left from the previous pregnancy that needs removing? Can I even get pregnant if there is still um, bits, left in the womb?

So confusing when you'ree emotionally exhausted!

If it hasn't all come out then the most likely thing is that your body will not realise that the mc is over and therefore you won't ovulate yet. So then you won't be able to conceive.
Sorry about your miscarriage and good luck with ttc again

Katandkit - thank you for that. Makes complete sense. It's exactly the kind of logical thinking that I need right now to make sense of things. I know that I passed the sac intact (sorry for TMI) and the nurse at the hospital told me, unprompted, that we could ttc straight away... Probably based on knowing what had come out that day, I suppose. She said also that we didn't have to call for an appt for a follw up scan if we didn't want to, that they were happy with the results of the day. She didn't that we'd already been gived an appt by the other shift.

Hmm, overthinking, overworrying, such fun!
