I mean, I know it's possible... but likely?

MrsBlarney Mon 26-Sep-11 12:10:08

Ooh! Tethers! smile

no idea pet but hopefully someone else will know.

fannybanjo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:11:42

You can get a false positive only if you have been pregnant recently and miscarried. I hope you are happy with the result...!

MrsBlarney Mon 26-Sep-11 12:12:27

are you Ok? Were you expecting to possibly be pg? Or is it an awful shock?

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:12:29

I am, yes I think I would be... just BRICKING IT.

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:13:20

Not a terrible awful, shock- I mean, we were talking about trying...

I just feel about 12!

MrsBlarney Mon 26-Sep-11 12:13:26

I know what you mean, I get that every time I have a scare.

Talk to us.

fannybanjo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:15:15

So you would be happy if a baby comes along then!?

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:15:58

I mean, we are accidental parents; DD wasn't planned.

So it's like we've not really been doing the parenting thing... we're not real parents. But with two- wah! We have to be! No more pissing around grin

MmeLindor. Mon 26-Sep-11 12:16:57

Oh, how lovely.

You are real proper parents when you have your first child, you know.

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:17:00

Yes. Yes, if this is real, i will be happy.

Really happy actually!

Just worried about money, space etc...

MmeLindor. Mon 26-Sep-11 12:18:01

Don't worry about money, and they don't take up a lot of space for a while.

He/she is still only > < that size

fannybanjo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:18:32

My last two were accidents and the best things (along with DD1 who was IVF) to happen to DH and I although at the time when DD3 was conceived I was very worried. Congratulations!!! Does it say how many weeks you are? I love those first pregnancy days - you feel so bloody special.

fannybanjo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:19:35

Yep don't worry about money or space too much - we all end up winging it and our kids are ok!

MrsBlarney Mon 26-Sep-11 12:20:56

Congratulations Tethers grin

Well done, that's lovely. ikwym about being proper parents once you have another.

I have loads of baby stuff if you need anything.

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:24:40

Right, breathe. You are all being lovely. <cries>

The test says 1-2 weeks, so v early.

If it's real. Can it be a false positive? Am three days late.

KnottyLocks Mon 26-Sep-11 12:29:21

I think it's more likey to be the otherway around at this stage, i.e. false negative.

Oooooooooo, congratulations.

<waits for the S&B pregnancy thread>

kat2504 Mon 26-Sep-11 12:30:13

No, a false positive is virtually impossible. On the box/leaflet it says that very rarely, post-menopausal women over 50 may get a false positive and some types of ovarian cysts may also cause it. But they are at least 99% accurate so that means that you are almost certainly pregnant! Do another test, I bet it says the same!
Congratulations smile

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:30:54

Oh bugger. I forgot. I just ordered a leather pencil skirt.

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:31:26

But i don't care!

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:31:39

<I do a bit. Skirt was lovely>

bluegnueboo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:31:57

I think it's unlikely to be false Tethers, but try another brand if your worried.

I've seen reports of the "normal" clearblue being dodgy but not the digital.

Congratulations!!!! I think everyone wings it in the end really, you'll be fine, better than fine, you'll be great.

tethersend Mon 26-Sep-11 12:33:00

Ok, so... I will get another test later to make sure.

Thank you all. Sorry if I'm not saying the right thing, am just a bit knocked (up) for six IYSWIM

bluegnueboo Mon 26-Sep-11 12:33:14
