New thread ladies, pull up a pew. <Lays out freshly baked whoopie pies and a few posters of firemen>

Biscuitsandtea Thu 15-Sep-11 20:42:04

I'm here, I'm here!!

<takes the seat closest to the posters of firemen grin>

Biscuitsandtea Thu 15-Sep-11 20:43:53

<lays out some sultana scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream to go with the other stuff>

dreamfeeder Thu 15-Sep-11 20:44:30

<gets so close to biscuits she wonders if biscuits will get uncomfortable and move away or continue the fireman adoration>

maybebabyR Thu 15-Sep-11 20:45:44

<Puts a pot of tea on to brew to make it look as though we are refined>

<Realises we are far from refined when she spots Biscuits drooling on a poster>

dreamfeeder Thu 15-Sep-11 20:46:18

<gazes at firemen pictures>

<nearly picks up a scone, then remembers what will happen...>

Biscuitsandtea Thu 15-Sep-11 20:46:44

<doesn't really notice Dream due to high degree of focus on the firemen, but puts a glittery vom bucket near her just in case wink>

Biscuitsandtea Thu 15-Sep-11 20:47:33

<discreetly wipes drooly face with a napkin blush>

MyGoldenNotebook Thu 15-Sep-11 20:58:55

<settles down and nibbles daintily on a scone>

Well ladies I am on day 1 of my pregnancy so this is a wonderful moment for a new thread. thanks to that miserable witch I am joing all the others expecting a June bug smile

Thanks for starting the new thread Maybe!

Manuka honey you say Far? I don't like honey but I do like babies. I may have to purchase ...

musicalmrs Thu 15-Sep-11 21:12:19

<finds a fluffy cushion to sit on>

Sorry to hear about AF Golden, but welcome to day 1 of your pregnancy!
I'm completely shattered, and still worrying about everything and anything. Being in the "AF go away, for at least nine months ok?!" support group is bound to distract me.

Who is soon to POAS?

Is Ben and Jerries a good food for preggos? <ponders>

<mixes up some non-alcoholic mohitos>

thelittlefriend Thu 15-Sep-11 21:18:37

mmmm, I love scones & cream

maybebabyR Thu 15-Sep-11 21:26:09

Ah Golden sorry to hear that. But you are in here now. We have the bouncers on the door, so she won't be bothering you again.

Dream still not keeping anything down? How about ice lollies?

Musical what's worrying you lovely? Ben and Jerrys is very good I have heard. All that calcium and stuff grin

Little I do too. Must say I am more of a raspberry jam fan on mine than a strawberry. Though I did have some amazing elderflower jam the other day. Mmmmmm mmmmmmm

musicalmrs Thu 15-Sep-11 21:57:01

maybe - That's great to hear. I will be cracking out the B&Js then, once I've finished working (no rest for the wicked!).

Posted about it on the sister thread, but I've been experiencing bleeding for the past couple of days. Not too heavy, but enough to worry about. Coupled with abdominal pain, which is of course a baaaad symptom, sent me into worrying overdrive! Ended up in A&E last night (recommended by a doctor at my surgery over the phone), where they took bloods and samples and said that they couldn't see anything wrong. Despite knowing that bleeding affects lots of women, and that the abdominal pain is probably a consequence of another symptom (constipation or bloating? lovely!), it doesn't stop me from going into worry overdrive!

I'll shhh now, and go back to brooking no argument for us all :D

<gets the B&Js out to soften>

MyGoldenNotebook Thu 15-Sep-11 22:02:23

Oh music lots and lots and lots and lots of women have bleeding in early pregnancy (including both me and my best friend) and everything is absolutely fine. Keep breathing! We all brook no argument together and that means that when any one here has a little wobble the rest pick up the slack smile

maybebabyR Thu 15-Sep-11 22:02:24

Oh bless you, you poor thing.

I know it is no consolation, but my SIL had bleeding in the first few months, and my little niece is as perfect as perfect can be!! You take it easy though, feet up and lots of B&J smile

Ooooooo shiny new thread! <stares at firemen posters for a few minutes, then bends down to discreetly mop up drool>

Golden I'm sorry to hear the evil witch showed up, what is her problem!?! Can't take a hint clearly. You'll have to explain the new situation to her in slow measured tones, and make sure she doesn't make the same mistake next month! A few squished rats should communicate the message in no uncertain terms grin glad you're staying positive. Enjoy the alcoholic first two weeks of your pregnancy!

Can I just say that I LOVED the work stories, and the TripAdvisor thread is hilarious!! Many thanks for the referral!

musicalmrs Thu 15-Sep-11 22:11:19

Thank you Golden and maybe smile I know there are a myriad of reasons, and that it's so so common, but that doesn't stop those of us who are worry obsessed from worrying! It's the not knowing what's going on that's driving me mad!

I've only mentioned it a couple of times and heard so many stories about it happening (including from DH's boss, who is the only person in RL who knows!)... they are comforting in a strange sort of way, in that they're real life examples of it happening. It's one thing reading it on Dr Google (badbad Musical!) or in books, but real life adds weight to the "it happens and it's not necessarily the end of the world" argument smile

I loved the work stories too Scream - haven't looked at the TripAdvisor thread yet though!

knittymum Thu 15-Sep-11 22:27:58

Evening all! Nice new place! <quietly lifts a plate of cakes and hides behind a sofa to eat them all - hungry day today!>

LateToThisBabyMalarky Thu 15-Sep-11 22:32:56

Thanks to whoever posted the TripAdvisor thread, have been laughing away at it all evening! Laughter therapy grin

duke748 Thu 15-Sep-11 22:40:32

Hi all! Lovely new thread.

I am now holding my pee ready for tomorrow's pee stick. I hope it's lucky pee!

Night all.

ScrambledSmegs Thu 15-Sep-11 23:46:23

Ooh, new thread! Love what you've done with the place! Cranberry flapjack, anyone?

Sorry to hear that Golden, but it just means that this will be your month instead!

<tacks up alternative view for those who don't dig firemen>

<dribbles a bit>

Biscuitsandtea Fri 16-Sep-11 05:35:57

Ah Scrambled, thank you, my other great love in life.....

<adjusts seat to have a perfect view of all posters now and sighs dreamily>

Well that has perked me up!

(Btw, just reread that, I don't mean Scrambled is the other great love of my life, although you're very lovely and all that smile)

Biscuitsandtea Fri 16-Sep-11 05:40:16

Sorry, got distracted, meant to say too golden BOO to AF - she just doesn't get it does she - this is your month!

<leaves some manuka honey flapjacks and resumes daydreaming about the marvellous RA...>

Imps7 Fri 16-Sep-11 06:53:55

<Struts in proudly showing off an enormous chicken, smoked bacon and leek pie for lunch>

Phew, I was up at 2am cooking that for you lot...

Morning! What a lovely new thread! Love what you've done with it - simple country chic is all the rage these days <pops a jam jar of freshly cut flowers from the garden on the table>

Sorry to hear the cowbag caught you Golden - it's her last visit for a veeeeeeeeery long time though.

What pee news from you Duke??? Have those sticks been kind to you this morning or are they making you wait a little longer?

Musical am very glad that you're okay. Definitely worth a trip to A&E if only to put your mind at ease. Keeping not brooking those arguments.

Well so much for OH being up for the SWI - he was "too tired" last night after 3 pints and a curry. Grrrr. Oh well, mustn't panic - am only really entering the Crucial Shagging Window today so he has a chance to redeem himself. If he doesn't though I must keep calm and relax and try not to punch him in the face for being a git - we'll get there one day when he mans up and can shag me on demand

Biscuitsandtea Fri 16-Sep-11 07:07:19

Mmmmmm - pie grin

I so wish I could cook pies. I've never tried so I might be awesome at it, but can't imagine it. Felt very inadequate watching the great british bake off this week blush
