Are these the cheapy sticks (in individual sachets) that you dip in wee?

If so then yes I am using them. They seem to work for me. I get no second line at all in the run up to ov, then suddenly I get a quite dark second line for about 2-3 days (darkest on the middle day). And then AF arrives 2 weeks after the middle day. So seems like it's working.

However - I do hear lots of stories (on amazon etc) of people who always get neg results even though they know they are ovulating - and indeed people who have got a BFP even after always getting neg results on these!
So maybe they work for some but not others.

Do you know roughly when you ought to get a positive result?

I've used them and they work fine for me.
One thing though, even when I have the surge, the test line never goes darker than the control line. However, I have learnt to recognise the darkest line I get as being a positive result as it is a clear surge from the very faint line of the few days before hand. I know that it is positive and I actually am ovulating because I am pregnant. When I first started using them I kept the tests for a seven day period for comparison the next month and I started to detect a pattern. So if you never get a result that you think is a positive, you can learn to recognise which day is the darkest line for you and keep that one to refer to the next month to decide if a test is positive.
Really these tests are great for not spending all your hard earned cash on sticks to piss on.

agree kat my darkest line is never darker than the control line, but I'm pretty sure it's a positive due to the pattern.

Thanks kat and congratulations! I will look more closely. One v gross question, when it says never let the urine go o er the test line when I dip it in (lower than the line) it absorbs above the max line. Have either of you had that problem?

It is supposed to absorb above that - the urine needs to travel all the way along the stick and pick up the dye on its way. The line is there so you don't wash away all the dye by accidentally dipping the stick too far in the cup, or so that there isn't too much pee on the test so it is too wet to work.
Hold it in the cup with the line just above the pee, for the exact amount of time that it says on the instructions and you can't go wrong.

Yes the wee has to absorb and travel up to above the max line - otherwise it won't work! Maybe this is why yours aren't working Grin

They just mean don't actually dip it in above the max line.
