Just been referred to a fertility clinic. What should I expect?

Hello,
I'm after a bit of advice. I had a mc about 6 mths ago and despite things appearing to go back to normal about 8wks post mc, I have only had 2 proper periods (81 days apart).
My GP has just referred me to the fertility clinic as she suspects I am not ovulating. She has also booked me in for further blood tests (Thyroid, Iron Glucose & liver function). The initial hormone tests she did all came back normal.
Does anyone know what I should expect from the fertility clinic? The website only seems to talk about IVF, which seems a bit much to me at the moment.
I'd be grateful for any advice/knowledge on this.
Thank you.
ps I already have one child and both times got pregnant within a month or trying.

Hi there - I was on here about a year ago asking exactly the same question. I was/am in a slightly different position as I've never been pregnant but I'll chip in anyway! For the first appointment a case history will be taken of both you and your partner so take him with you. Without wishing to give medical advice, I'd guess that they might recommend Clomid to start ovulation/period. That said, it's odd that the GP says that your hormones are normal - progesteron on day 21/22 normally indicates whether ovulation has occurred. Did your GP do this and tell you what the result was? You can also monitor yourself with cheap ovulation kits.

My key piece of advice is to recommend that you actively manage your own treatment as my own (NHS) experience has been a bit mixed - dis-organisation mainly.

Good luck!

Thanks very much. I'm not sure what the hormone tests were as I never saw the results. She did them on about day 50 and just said the results were normal.
The GP also mentioned the ovulation tests. She suggested one of the more expensive kits which does blue and red days but couldn't remember the name. I've used the cheap kits before but have had difficulty reading them and the digital ones are too expensive.
The problem is I have no idea how long my cycle will be and at 80+ days it's impossible to tell when to test.
