I had this procedure yesterday and am now at home off for the next week just wondered what I am supposed to do now in terms of next steps? Just wait and see? How will I know if it has worked or not? I have Clomid resistant pcos been ttc for nearly 9 months

Start shagging is my suggestion (or as soon as you're allowed). I have heard of quite a few people who have had problems conceiving that have got pregnant immediately following a lap & dye! May or may not work but worth a try. Something to do with stimulating your ovaries or unblocking something, I'm not quite sure.

Your consultant should've given you a bit more idea about what happens next though. Maybe you should speak to them, or your GP?

Yea I've got an appointment with the fertility clinic in 4 weeks so hopefully something will happen before then to get things going... Hope it has been worth it as it is mega sore

Sorry to hear that. May want to hold of on the shagging then I suppose! It's just that I have heard of people getting pregnant unexpectedly after this procedure.

I got pg 6 weeks after a lap and dye while taking metformin, clomid didn't work for me either. Get to it when the soreness fades.

I have pcos too. Had ds at 19 without any problems started ttc #2 so stopped the pill nothing happened. Af didn't come for months gp started doing tests and found I had pcos. Took 6 rounds of clomid only ov'd once. Got sent for lap & dye, blead because of it. Went back to gynecologist who said they couldn't help me further as I had ds. I asked for metformin to help with the ovulation and took them. Then af arrived about a month to 6 weeks later without having to take progesteron. Next af kind of spotted over the space of 3 weeks doc thought I had a burst cyst as I was in lots of pain but I was actually pregnant. Dd just turned 1. It will happen just harder for us.

Yea I'm sure it will eventually... Had 6 roofs of clomid already so not sure what they will do next if this doesn't work

Have you taken metformin? There are lots of options for you for ttc. When you back at the consultant? It was different for me due to already having ds.

I bled straight away then again a month(ish) later. But I think that was the metformin. Have you bled? I think the dye brought on my bleeding.

Report
MalibuStac · 25/07/2011 04:36

Sorry last message doesn't make sense. I think I had af without provera due to metformin but I think the bleeding after the scan was due to the dye they use.

I had mine on Wednesday, but don't get a follow up appointment for 3 months :(

Despite my post on the other thread, I think I am actually spotting rather than menstruating.

Are you having sex, pinkapples? My stomach is decidedly sore, but I keep reading stories of people becoming pregnant in the first month after the operation, so don't want to miss a good chance!

Dh and I are not at the mo as like u my stomach around the incisions is a bit sore. May give it s go at some point this week tho as it is getting better. Did u have a period before the lap? I think u can get preg if u have one before then have the lap then SWI. I didnt have ones I dont have them at all without induction so I was told to wait for a period then SWI got an apt in 4 weeks tho so hopefully they will b able to sort it if nothing has happened

Yes, I had one at the beginning of July, but my cycles are so incredibly unpredictable that I have no idea when another one might have been due!
