Really terrified in case I mc again, and just hoping to get BFP first month of trying!!! I'm 38 and the mc has made me really hear the clock ticking. I just want one more, just one, please! Oh girls can I join you?!!

I am desperate for DC2 but only managed to persuade DH in the last couple of weeks, after 2 years - believe me the labour and birth was that traumatic...

The PG was no picnic either, first an early MC, 6 weeks later PG again. 12 weeks got high Downs risk. Had a CVS at 14 weeks which failed followed by an amnio at 18 weeks given the all clear and confirmed that we were having a girl. Then at 28 weeks, diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. Hence being induced early, in labour for 4 days, an epidural that only numbed half my body finished with an Episiotomy and Ventouse which damaged my DD's eye so badly that her eye doesn't open and DD had to be resuscitated (sp).

And I am desperate for another one!!! I must be mad...

Anyway, can't really afford to pay for childcare for 2 children as we both work full-time, so have to wait really until Easter next year where the Government funding will cut in to help out with DD1's childcare but I DON'T WANT TO WAIT!!

Anyone else having to wait?

Can I join as well?!

I am officially broody for the first time in my life!

I have 1 DS who is 6 months old and I am so desperate for another one. We started trying a couple of weeks ago and I came on yesterday and even though I knew it was super unlikely that I would be pg, I was still so disappointed.

I am trying not to put myself under too much pressure and get too caught up in the fact we are now TTC. DP prefers to say that we're just not being careful and seeing what happens which is good in theory but I am already impatient!!

Wishing everybody else lots of luck as well!!

Horridcold, it sounds like you had an absolutely awful time! Easter isn't that far away and hopefully the time will pass quickly.

I am very broody and my DS is only 5 weeks old Shock

I wish all of you the very best of luck Smile

verycherry, it was pretty pants yes. What made it worse is with the GD I had to be on insulin so inject myself 4 times a day and I've been warned that it may start as early as 12 weeks this time - nice! Not... I wouldn't mind but my BMI pre-pregnancy last time was only 19!!

Pressure is the worst thing when you're TTC. We got PG the first month then had the MC but then were PG again 6 weeks after, but in a sense, that's why we have to wait. We are under no illusions that it will be as easy 2nd time around, BUT if it is we are screwed in terms of money, so we HAVE to wait just in case.

And I hate it!!

Good luck though verycherry, I'll be watching this thread with interest!!

So are you TTC Prisoner Wink?

good luck, OP - it can happen! our DD2 (due early December) conceived by donor insemination (so not straightforward) 3rd go, mum was 41 and a half. DD1 born 2009 after an earlier mmc. Don't lose hope! We were convinced that it wouldn't work out this time...we were wrong :)

Hi can I join you lovely ladies.

My Oh has finally agreed that we can start TTC now we're so close to getting married. We get married the 18th of next month. He didn't want a baby out of wedlock.

are we doing stats or not in here?

cant be arsed doing stats tbh, they just take up HUGE lengths of the thread and i just wanna come and natter about where folk are up to and how they are doing.

that's fine. just wanted to check.

I have no one in RL I can really talk to so will be nice to have people to share with. Plus being new to TTC hopefully you ladies can give me some tips.

I've started charting on fertility friend just to try and get some idea of a usual cycle etc as never really took much notice.

Report
mrsnesbit · 21/07/2011 21:38

hmm, i would caution you about getting too technical. I think its a good idea to get some idea of your cycle, but you end up becoming a bit obsessed.

I also would not get those ovulation sticks although they have worked well for some, for me they caused me loads of stress and unecissary upset.

Just do the deed every other day, eat healthily, reduce/cut out alcohol, & take folic acid. Additionally i have decafinated everything, but thats just me.

Then cross your fingers and be patient...wait and wait and wait....be patient even though its agonising.
Good luck x

mrsnesbit you are probably right - although obviously for us your regime wasn't an option :o. But DP did the various dietary things you mention, but also lots of supplements following Marilyn Glenville's book Getting Pregnant Faster. She swears that both term pregnancies were due to 'good eggs' produced this way - I think she felt that given the method plus her age that everything she could do to help things along was a good idea.

We are both glad that (fingers crossed) our family is complete and we never have to chart a cycle, or use an ovulation stick ever again. I think if you are a straight couple, your recipe is a good one - it wasn't an option for us (tediously enough)

Report
mrsnesbit · 21/07/2011 21:48

Im not sure that you can influence which eggs are released can you? Is it Not just a random unconcious thing?
I only ask because i think that the cause of my mcs is poor quality eggs.
