hi i just want some opinions. i think im due my AF on monday, or it could of been thurs just gone. I took a superdrug test thurs morn and it was BFN. I took a clearblue PT thurs eve and it came up a faint BFP. Since then I have taken another superdrug which was BFN, and 2 more clearblues which were, again, a faint BFP. But not too faint that I questioned it. I was just basically wondering if anyone would know why I would get a BFN on one brand and a BFP on another? And which one should I believe?
I have a wedding reception tonight so I would prefer to know if I should avoid the alcohol or not.
Thank you in advance for your replies.

I'm a bit of an expert on this (long story). Some tests are just more sensitive than others. Usually the cheapie tests are less sensitive and only work from the day of your missed period. Clearblue are quite sensitive so would pick up a BFP sooner.

As Euro says, false positives are very rare. Congrats!!!

thank you, i bought a sainsburys one today. its sunday and everywhere else was shut! it said it was an early one so I took it just now (im due on tomorrow) and it was BFN. its all so confusing. think il just have to wait until the morning and go buy a clearblue one. i shouldnt of taken one this evening but i got impatient!! i know if i had just taken a clearblue one first then i wouldnt be doubting it, but as i took 2 superdrugs i keep thinking of the BFN's. grrr.

thank you ladies for your answers :)

Do it with your first urine in the morning, that's when the hormone is most concentrated. It is so confusing if the tests have different results, the same thing happened to me.

Hi no1 sorry AF got you. I don't know whether your situation is the same as mine, you may well have been pregnant, but I have had some bad experiences with clear blue. I have gotten 3 positives on them before, but never on another brand, and always ended up getting AF. Quite a few people have had bad experiences with clearblue tests, so I now avoid them altogether.

oh no, thats bad isnt it?! theyre supposed to be the best brand! With my first PG I took the clearblue digital with predictor but this time I didnt because they are so expensive. Maybe in future I will just use them because they seem to be the only ones I can trust.

Thankyou maybebabyR

You're more than welcome. It is terrible. And they hardly cheap either! I know what you mean about the digital ones. I refuse to use them until I get a BFP on a cheapie!

Sorry again that this happened. FX for next month
