Hello all

I'm asking for some help on behalf of a friend who has been ttc for over 4 years. Her and her DH have had all the tests (including a laprascopy) and everything is all fine with no biological reason why they shouldn't be conceiving.

They went to speak to her GP about IVF, and were told that as of April, the NHS no longer offer IVF???? That doesn't sound right to me at all... I've not been in the position before, but I was under the impression that everyone can get one round of IVF on the NHS?

Could it be that they won't offer it to them because there's technically no physical reason why they shouldn't be conceiving?

Is there anything they can do to get this done without having to pay privately, as it's not something can afford...

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I don't know for certain, but I was reading in the daily mail that some areas don't offer it at all, and some have guidelines, so for example because I live in bucks and I'm older than 35 DH and I will have to pay. Which is really unfair, but hey life is unfair isn't it. Sad

apparantly all PCTs should offer IVF but there was something in the news last week that certain PCT's don't offer it at all and some do with strict inclusion criteria
