Hello fellow new girl Brasso4! Can I join too? It's really early days for me as have just MC this week - awful bleeding and contractions situation at 12 weeks (MMC was 7 weeks). Got to check all gone next week but already debating TCC again.

Am trying to weigh up pros and cons of waiting for a first cycle or starting straight after given all clear.

Would be good to get straight on with it but am wary of warnings it might happen again. And I might be referred for tests by my doc who seemed up for referring me even though the possible two MCs (one termination, sorry - was very young, that was 'very small' and one MC without knowing was pregnant). have had before were 15 and 16 years ago and with someone else.

So I guess that's:

Freelance girl TTC2, shall I wait for cycle post MC?, UCL 28-38 (av 33)

Any thoughts on waiting/starting gratefully received xx

welcome to the newbies Sad that you have to be here but everyone very welcoming.

freelance As for should you / shouldnt you wait the obvious reason for waiting is that it makes dating the next one easier if you fall straight away and GPs seem to prefer this. i think the biggest reason to wait realistically though is until you feel mentally ready x hope that helps a little..... fwiw i said i was going to wait til after my 1st af after my mc in dec, thought i had af in jan but realised in feb i actually hadnt, however we did start ttc after my jan one, not lucky enough yet to have had bfp but im 3 days into my 2ww of possible 2nd cycle post mc so fx > i think this bit is bad looking out and phantom symptom spotting !!!!

OOoh, I am on a list! Thanks Meliesmummy, MumTum et al for having us.

Makes it feel a bit more real. Feels very early as it has only been this week. Dating I don't care about as I guess I can always have a dating scan - it's whether it might mean I am physically not ready and it might result in another one. But am not sure how long it will take to get my referral for tests accepted so am not sure if I can wait. I asked my GP to test thyroid antibodies (I am 'normal' but take thyroxine for previous under active and have had raised antibodies before). I plan to take Selenium this time. Any other recommendations do tell!

Emotionally I feel ready as soon as I can. It's funny that I was never really that fixed on TTC the first time around (took it quite casually) but it's amazing what the mc has done to get me obsessed kick start my child-craving hormones. Just what I didn't want to happen, as it was always something I worried I would struggle with. And here I am.

So the choice is still - wait for first period just in case it might cause probs if it happens straight away. And/or wait for referrals and tests. OR just get the hell on with it!!!

Would love to know what you all did/are doing.

I must say everyone seems very clever and clued up on here about the ins and outs of this business, I will have to do some swotting up to catch up.

Yes I too am sorry for the reasons that got us all here but it seems like a very positive and supportive place to be, which is lovely.

Welcome to the newbies - nice to meet you but sorry you have to be here Sad

freelance we waited for one AF (which took almost 7 weeks to come after ERPC, the waiting killed me) - although I have no idea what my cycles are doing now, I'm on cycle 2, last cycle went to 33 days, which is unheard of and got my hopes up.

Totally know what you mean about mc giving you the "need" to get pg, whereas you were pretty laid back before, dh thinks I've turned into a nutter! One of my work colleagues wife had the same thing on her third pg - had only ever planned on two, had a "little surprise" 3rd pg, mc'd, and then informed him that they must try for no.3 - all worked out well but I did think it was v interesting...

(((collie))) big hug for a tough day

freelance I started trying as soon as I'd had a bfn. Af arrived a few days later though! I take pregnacare conception and I eat brazil nuts every day, I tried evening primrose oil but it didn't suit me (only take it up until ovulation if you decide to use it).

collie I'm glad that your day went as well as it could, I'm sorry to hear that you are having brown spotting, it's really common though so I'm sure it's nothing x

My tests haven't arrived yet, estimated delivery isn't until tues though, that's a good thing because it means I wont be tempted! More watery red blood here, definately not an af pattern, seems to be that I have watery red blood that turns pink then brown then nothing for a few hours then it starts again! That pattern would fit with cervical erosion I think, if it's af it's certainly very odd! It all means I have no idea where I am in my cycle anymore! I've also had another dizzy spell which is unusual for me so who knows!!!

Hi Meliesmummy I did night shifts for over a year and although on paper it was a great job, the night shifts were so hard on my body! Cortisol holding on to fat etc, sleep becomes so important. I hope you manage well with it. I started on pregnacare and went on to Santagon just as the doc gave me it for free and I started taking selenium this morning. I had already been told to take it by an endo last year, kicking myself for not doing it even though it wasn't tcc related at the time. Or yes I could just eat brazil nuts too. I can't yet work out what does of selenium - some say 100mcg some say 200.

Thanks Wellie (totally agree about the mc creating a need that wasn't previously there) and Collie too. Sorry you are spotting Collie, it must be so worrying. But it DOES seem totally normal for a lot of people to have that so it's important that you stay positive about it. I realise it must be very scary.

I imagine it will also be a long wait until I get AF (can I confess I don't know what this stands for Blush but I have deduced its meaning!). Especially as have always had rubbish long cycles.

From what I have read on here I am thinking I need to:

Get some tests in so I can get a BFN and or first AF post MC first (after bleeding stopped/check up)
Work out when am ovulating (just guessed before, rarely any outward signs picked up on)
Invest in some ovulation sticks?
Keep taking Selenium, pre-preg vits (inc Folic Acid)
But not wait until referrals for tests come through. I figure if these do arrive and am already pg they can test/help support me through that?
