  1. Obsessively calculating income on basis of going back to work full time, part time and not at all, after deducting childcare, travel (etc) costs.

  2. Experiencing imaginary morning sickness two days after ovulation.

  3. Making birth plans in head (and sometimes on paper Blush).

Know just what you mean about working out how pregnant you would be at key events, Folicacid - have already wondered whether should accept a few hen-do invitations for later this year in case am pregnant and likely to be tired and sick Blush (although have retained sanity so far and not turned any down on this basis...)

  1. Knowing more about 'travel systems' than friends with actual real babies

Loveinacoldclimate it is a form of madness isn't it? I have also committed the crime of 11 too.

  1. Checking out several 'due date calendars' on-line, to see if they really all do give you the same date. For the baby who is not so much a glint in your eye as a star in your head! And looking at the detailed info about what might be happening this week. 'The first two weeks of pregnancy, you are not even pregnant.' I knew it - I'm not pregnant but the calendar ssays I shouldn't be yet, so it's ok - I'm on the pregnancy calendar - yay!!
  2. Staring at preg tests in Tescos, wondering how much you would be tempting fate by buying one.

  1. Going to John Lewis to haberdashery department but somehow via the pram section where I cant help but stop to browse and decide which one I would like to get Hmm

  2. Standing in front of the long bathroom mirror and sticking my stomach out whilst muttering to myself that I think I would look quite good pregnant !!!

Yes all very questionable indeed !

  1. Browsing online maternity stores to find practical pieces for work that wouldn't fit me if I bought them cause I'm not pregnant.

  2. Having a secret stash of baby gear in the back of the wardrobe.

  1. Wondering if I ought to cut down caffeine and alcohol, so that it's not too much of a shock to the system when I go cold turkey

So agree with loads of these - esp the how pregnant could I be at this time or that time. And working out the pay/maternity pay, etc.

  2. Reading up on local nursery's and schools

  1. Knowing exactly how I will decorate the nursery and having to restrain myself from buying bits for it.

Know just what you mean about JL baby department too, angster...

Ooops, have x posted and messed up numbering.

Feel slightly reassured that DH also does the working out due dates thing... although perhaps two of us obsessing is even worse!

oh yes - plans for the nursery for sure!! Have already veto'd a double bed for the spare room, as I want it only as a nursery. Sorry any visiting folks, can't you tell it's the baby-that-doesn't-exist-yet's room?!

  1. Start POAS at something ridiculously earlye...ooh say 7 DPO, being crushed by a BNF then and going back to the bin hours later to retrieve it and holding it up to the light squinting to see a line....

I can totally identify with staring at your FF chart - even though it doesnt change - for ages, almost willing it to suddenly show a pregnancy lol.

And the planning for events thing.

  1. Going shopping for clothes and only buying items made from jersey that can be grown into and would suffice at least the first six months of pregnancy Blush

  2. Addendum to no. 3 actually having a stash of pregnancy / baby name books hidden in the wardrobe

  3. Spending any "spare time" reading Ofsted reports for any school within a 20 mile radius

  1. Thinking about if you should move from your little 2 bed-er and searching on rightmove for an unobtainable 4/5 bed mansion that has 'chill out' areas for teenagers!!
  2. staring at pregnant bellies
  3. 'accidently' browsing maternity sections.

i am a sucker for 4 and 11, but find mysef doing almost all of them.... and now you've given me more guilty sins to find pleasure in! Smile

Collie I do your number 23 all the time!

Newgolddream Oh dear I do that too. Even pulling apart the Clear Blue Digital to see if there are any lines as surely the not pregnant is quite simply wrong.

This thread is making me feel so reassuringly normal - thank you Grin

27ish - "accidentally" straying into the baby bit of The White Company on lunchbreaks and having to fight with self not to buy adorable babygros "just in case" (just in case what, the charts are lying and I am in fact 38 weeks pregnant and just haven't noticed?).

LOL - Love this thread... I'm guilty of most of them. Especially wandering into the maternity section - did it in M&S the other day... the shame!
