Hi,

I am 1 39 year old mum of 4. My kids are 21,19,14 and 2 and i would really love to have another baby. I have TTC for 2 months now and have been bitterly disappointed each month. I have been reading lots about how your fertility starts to decrease quite rapidly after the age of 35 and i'm starting to get worried that maybe i won't be able to conceive.

Are there any other older mums out there TTC or already pg? i would love to hear from you.

On a brighter note, i just found out last week that my daughter is 6 weeks PG nd i am very excited at the prospect of becoming a granny. Maybe i should just be content with that and give up on the idea of having another.

Tracey.

Well, I think it's true that fertility starts to decline once you are over 35, but clearly not drastically in your case if you have a 2 year old, so I would take that as a pretty positive sign!!!

I know how you must feel every month - think everyone gets that when they are ttc, whether they are 19 or 39, I guess it's just a case of trying to keep everything in perspective - try not to let it become the centre of your world - you have 4 great kids already, so don't focus too much on number 5 - who knows, you may just get a big suprise one day!! You hear of lots of people conceiving naturally well into their 40's, and it sounds like you don't have any fertility problems.

Who knows, maybe being a granny will be enough for you - only time will tell. I guess just keep trying (but not too hard or too obsessively) and leave the rest in the hands of fate!

Good luck, keep us posted!
