I know that to qualify for SMP one has to be employed by the same employer continuously for at least 26 weeks into the 15th week before the week the baby is due. How long does that mean you have to be at the new employer for before getting pregnant? If pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, 15 weeks before the baby is due would be the 25th week of pregnancy - does that mean you only have to have been in the new job for a week before getting pregnant? Am I mis-calculating this? Thanks!

It seems to mean that you have to not yet be pregnant when you start the job but can get pregnant straight away
