I have the Air Hockey and Ping pong tables on order.
I thought it being the first day of term we should move in and make ourselves at home.

Cheepz Mon 06-Sep-10 21:05:09

I am with you in mind - but my spirit is moving house!

owlshoes Mon 06-Sep-10 21:07:54

randomimposter Mon 06-Sep-10 21:17:07

I'm up for re-sits. However I may have to shoot myself if I don't pass go next time... I don't even want the £200.

PrettyVacant1 Mon 06-Sep-10 22:33:16

Hello.
Jolls that gym skirt is faaaaar too short! wink
Sorry You can't come swimming, I'd brought a green flowery swimming hat for you too.

Cheepz I feel you with us, good luck with the move, wine kettle, craptop and chair are the best things to unpack first. grin

Owlster Yeah I'm ok.
Thanks for asking smile
Just feeling a bit whelmed with all the new peeps, I just want somewhere quiet to come every now and again.

Muser Mon 06-Sep-10 22:44:57

<sneaks in and leaves some cake and wine out for the 6th Formers>

I hope you all graduate very, very soon.

PrettyVacant1 Mon 06-Sep-10 23:04:35

Muse you don't need to sneak, grads are welcome to pop in anytime to update us.
We really miss you all.

clareanna Tue 07-Sep-10 08:22:27

Aaah here you are- lovely to see you all . Liking the common room- suggest maybe some posters from smash hits for the wall to brighten things up?!
Take care x

Magic8ballhastheanswers Tue 07-Sep-10 09:03:12

hello girlies!! < 8magic* leaves large bag of jaw breakers and sherbert straws on the table>

owlshoes Tue 07-Sep-10 09:40:48

God, Jolls you've brought back hideous memories of school swimming galas

I hope tis okay if I wander in here? I will sit quietly in the corner. I am finding it hard to keep up with the massivehooge thread.

Hello lovely grads, hope the puking is starting to wear off now

VivClicquot Tue 07-Sep-10 09:50:30

Cor, I like this common room much better than my old brown wood-pannelled walled one.

Clareanna - I'll bring the Take That posters, obv.

VivClicquot Tue 07-Sep-10 09:53:55

Actually thinking back, my sixth form common room wasn't that wood-pannelled. There was an extension bit with breeze blocks, which one of the boys managed to wedge a plastic school chair high up onto the wall and then would sit on it, a la Liam Gallagher in the Live Forever video. Good times.

randomimposter Tue 07-Sep-10 10:02:54

all grads most welcome to pop in... always nice to feel slim for a bit next to you fatties grinwink

MrsPV I really don't have the knees for short skirts do I....?

Morning all. Stooopid phone-in on 5live this morning about fertility/childfreeness etc. Plus DS wobbly at nursery when I left him (dunno why, he's usually fine) and it would have been my dear old dad's birthday today. I still have boxes to unpack: every time I turn round another blimmin cat has done a poo or found another irritating place to sit or stretch out and shed fur.

Then DP asks which of the boxes/bags waiting to go to ILs for storage we won't need for sure in the next 9 months or so. "Well all the baby clothes and stuff, in fact we might never need those". Cue sobbing and sniffling. I'm NOT in a good place.

Except Sainsburys had G&B on offer and I stocked up on lots of bars. Might just hide under the duvet and eat them all.

Magic8ballhastheanswers Tue 07-Sep-10 13:12:45

Jolls my cat is driving me bananas, he's long haired & shedding fur everywhere (which also = fur sick balls envy) Sorry you are feeling trousers I hope you have had a scoff on the G&Bs. Chin up hun (I don't want to sound patronising blush) you WILL get there xxxxx

Blimey sixth form.......one of my teachers had THE worst BO on the planet. I did love it when I passed my driving test turning up to college in my first car with pull out stereo, giving everyone lifts in exchange for petrol money and smoking of course......LOL

owlshoes Tue 07-Sep-10 13:43:18

Oooh, you want a Furminator, that's what you want. I furminated (new verb) our evil sheddy cat a few weeks ago and he hasn't barfed since. Tis blissful. It is like a nit comb for kitties.

Magic8ballhastheanswers Tue 07-Sep-10 13:58:19

Owlshoes I like the sound of that

CaribouMoo Tue 07-Sep-10 14:41:46

Hiya!! I'm here with my doc martin boots and outlandish music taste to join the common room fun

Gi1da Tue 07-Sep-10 18:58:43

ooo - another pair of docs here with stripey tights and a goth/indie tassel skirt smile

Missed you gals.

clareanna Tue 07-Sep-10 19:11:11

gi1da pmsl - I'll join you on a James t-shirt and multiple layers of lovebeads, m&s mens grandad Carrie (too big) and badly dyed hair (henna)
How I ever got a husband is beyond me- 17 year olds today are far sexier!!! [haggard showing my age emoticon]

Gi1da Tue 07-Sep-10 19:28:05

OMG that came back in a rush...everybody sing along now.. OH SIT DOWN, SIT DOWN NEXT TO ME....

Also guilty of henna crimes... blush
I saw some photos of young myself when I was clearing out stuff the other day and thought oh heavens what WERE you thinking with those EYEBROWS!! It was indeed the dark ages of preening...

CaribouMoo Tue 07-Sep-10 19:56:50

Lassies, I met Tim Booth backstage at a gig in the Glasgow Barrowlands!! Handpicked by roadies to go backstage and by leched at by old men in the 40s and 50s rather than the band. Tim Booth was suitably appalled, especially when he realised we were underage and made sure we could get home alright.

Clare I often wonder why I didn't make more use of assests when I could. My figure was not too shabby back then and I was drowning in big t-shirts and also black skirts with tassles!

Gi1da its good to see you here pal, all the old gang back together. I used Bodyshop henna that you made into a honking green paste!

PrettyVacant1 Tue 07-Sep-10 20:50:10

Hello!
How are you all my luvvlies.
I got a noo phone, I got a noo phone!
For anyone who doesn't know about the hate/hate relationship I had with my previous one.
As my dear old Nin used to say
"there's nothing down for you all now"
I'm never gonna be oft t'internet now.

I'm on holiday from tomorrow just chilling and seeing Faahmilly in That London so I'll be making good use of new toy.

Nice to see so many of you dropping in and of course you are welcome Owl .
I love what you've all done with the place.

Back soon when I've broke finished playing with my phone

nickstermum Tue 07-Sep-10 22:19:03

<popped in to say hello all>

Mind if i pop in for a quiet fizzy cherryade every now and again? Just for a bit of quiet time.. I like the other thread but it has gone a bit mental

See you all again soon i hope, every now and again for some down time smile i hope thats ok

<quietly pops out>

PrettyVacant1 Wed 08-Sep-10 07:36:57

Is it too early to be blasting Laid and dance round like a loon?
# Ahh, you think you're so pretty tee heeeeee, hee hee-IEEE hee hee heeee # etc, etc.
I am so good at the air drums on that song.

owlshoes Wed 08-Sep-10 09:50:28

Ooo shiny new phone, splendid - have you broken it yet? grin

Not too early to be dancing; tis never too early for that if you are on hols.

<puts on DMs, alarming leggings and huge baggy black jumper, re-dyes lurid orange streak in fringe, goes off to band practice>

God, life was easy at 17 wasn't it. Although they hadn't invented mobile phones then had they? Or the internet.

<implodes at the thought of life without the internet>
