I’m not a mum but we are doing another project Sad at school on doom and gloom sorry I mean global warming

This ones on household disposables and I’ve picked iDisposable Nappies

Just a quick intro theres other 410,000,000 .... YES 410 million plastic filled nappies going into landfill each year in the U.K. how many of you eco mums are really saving the planet and using cotton ones , according to figures from GW sites the average time for degrading is 500 years

So who’s HONESTLY using cotton nappies ! please please be honest !

Don’t need any long replies just YES / NO

Thanks in advance x

We use reusables. They're brilliant, save money, and are better for the environment.

Yes, love putting soft fleece on my baby’s bottom rather than plastic.

@Lou573 fleece is plastic..?

I spent a fortune on reusables, got conflicting advice on how to wash them, two weeks in they were all delaminated and ruined. Could not afford to replace.

So, no.

Im using Alvababy with my 2 week old DS and they work brilliant i think a lot of people don't realise there's cheaper brands out there than Bambino mios that are about £16 each so they avoid them and a lot of people are put off by the washing process but i only do one extra load a week so far so haven't noticed a difference

Yep. I have with both girls and will again when ds is delivered in a few weeks. I do use the odd eco disposable if we are away on holiday and doing laundry regularly isn't feasible.
How long do eco disposables take to degrade? I was trying to find this out a few weeks ago and couldn't find an answer.

Good luck with the project. X

I did with mine, son from around 9 months and daughter from birth. I bought the majority of my nappies second hand (but new wraps and fleece liners), then sold them on afterwards too. I also used washable wipes (and still use them for wiping up and hankies - my youngest is 14 now!)
