Hi my 11 month old (1 next week!) DD has had it this week, apparently a bug in the area we had her to the docs as she was v hot and exhausted. He said to keep her hydrated with small sips of water, he suggested an oz every half hr/a spoonful every 5 mins (apparently the same amount!) and to give her calpol regularly to bring her temp down, which worked.

She slept most of tuesday and couldn't keep anything down except a tiny nibble of toast, I tried some of her milk on wednesday but she thre it up so kept with the water. The dr suggested flat lucozade for glucose and ginger ?? but I wouldn't want her having all that sugar, she took some yogurt on wednesday evening and yesterday had a couple of bottles of her milk very slowly and some vegetables (she likes to feed herself broccoli and peas!)

She is almost back to normal, yesterday had diarrhoea but no vomiting.

I hope he's better soon, it's awful for them.

i've been trying water and offered him a bit of a baby biscuit thing (not worrying what he eats if it stays in)
he was fine sat still on my lap but when he wriggled about he threw it back up again.
i don't think he's had a wee yet either today (last nappy change at 8)
he is very sleeepy as well - he slept through which is not normal (apart for tiddly vomit which he went straight back to sleep from) AND he's on his second nap of the day! (normally he's an hour at 10 and 2!)
i'm going to the dr this afternoon as i don't want to wait till the weekend and get an out of hours dr.

feel so sad for him and he's missing 2 of his friends first birthday parties!

That's how DD was, asleep most of the time on Tues and her nappies weren't very wet, I did take her to out of hours on Tues eve as she was so out of it and sleepy I was worried as well as her body feeling hot to the touch. Try not to worry but do see the GP to settle your mind.

It's DD's 1st party this weekend so am hoping she's back to herself!
