My 3 year old DS is due to have his tonsils out in January after suffering many bouts of severe tonsillitis this year with terrible temperatures often resulting in overnight hospital visits. I was wondering if his consultant would consider putting him on low dose antibiotics until the operation in January to prevent another infection. Anyone with any experience of this?. I usually dislike overuse of antibiotics but I cant describe how ill he gets and I would do anything to prevent another infection for him. Is the consultant likely to just laugh at my suggestion? Thanks in Advance
