Ds has a nasty bug. Went to gp today and she said is viral and ride it out but it is awful. It is the first time he has had aggressive fevers, he does respond to meds as long as I keep him on alternate nurofen/pamol, constant sips of drink, sucking on iceblocks, sponging. He is listless and miserable, saying his throat, head and tummy are feeling sick but not sore. GP said glands up and tonsils big but not overly concerned. I am on my own with him and baby dd at the minute out of town and hate to see him so poorly. I am feeling pretty rough myself as dd is teething at the minute and I am averaging 3 hours sleep a night for the last week. This is only day 3 of bug, he has already missed a party and now his beloved guy fawkes party on Sat nite is under threat if he doesn't improve plus have told him he can't go to swimming lesson tomorrow...so he is feeling very sorry for himself and rightly so. Please tell me he will improve soon can't handle this for much longer on so little sleep (btw he is not a lie down and sleep it off patient, he is a cry, shout, demand, whinge sort of patient)

Another 2 weeks on my own, it is the lack of sleep more than anything and worry over ds when temp goes up...this is when living out of town is a big disadvantage. ( have dosed dd with pamol even though I hate to use it on her, but I really need her to sleep more than an hour at a time tonight so I can catch up a bit and she is really having a rough time with the teeth (I think I can see it through the gum) so it shouldn't be long till it breaks through I hope)

I managed to settle dd and suddenly realised I actually had not eaten since breakfast as I had been concentrating on the kids so much so I feel a bit better with something to eat in me. Ds is down to 38 but is very flushed from shouting at me for daring to have something to eat when he was too poorly to face food!!! thanks to toadstool for hand holding...hopefully the night goes ok, will try to settle ds and maybe (fingers crossed emoticon) get some sleep myself
