Should I give DS vitamin supplements?

My DS (20mths) has a bit of a fruit aversion, has since he was about 8mths old. I'm not sure what started it but if I give him a piece of fruit he literally recoils. I'm being patient and keep offering, in the meantime he has smoothies and purees so that I at least know he is getting some of the goodness.

Anyway, one of my friends said that her HV had suggested vit supplements for her DS as a standard. I am rather of the belief that as long as you have a good balanced diet you shouldn't need them, but it has got me thinking that maybe DS should have them.

I'm interested to hear what other people do.

Thanks

I give DS vitamins, but then he would live on cheese on toast and eats no fruit or veg other than peas and dried dates

I give him the Natures Plus Animal Parade, they look like a good spec. He takes 2 per day and badgers me for them . They come in animal shapes and are chewable. He also gets the odd bit of fish oil too, poor child

as long as the rest of their diet is balanced ,everything should be fine. How about making a fresh fuit puree for ice cream ,add a spoonful of iciing sugsr to sweeten and tell him its sauce, not fruit. If it has seeds ,just strain it. Puree the apple and add to ice cream
