My DD has had diarrhea for a week now, water poo! Bless her.
I am going to the docters tomorrow, I have been to the chemist today to see if there was anything she can take but there wasnt!
Can anyone give me some advice?
Maybe I need to change her diet, she probs has a viral stomach infection, her poos are explosive watery...

My DS was given some rehydration salts when he had a tummy upset for a week. Some diluted apple juice was suggested and that seemed to go down well.

Agree rehydation sachets can help top up the fluid, in addition to her normal water/milk, but avoid fruit juice. Assuming she's not very dehydrated, let her eat too, but avoid high sugar foods. Diarrhoea usually starts to abate after 5-7 days but can last longer. It should have cleared up by three weeks. Doc may send a sample as it's gone on over a week, except if it is clearly easing up.

The latest guidelines (NICE April 2009) say you don't need to avoid milk/food, and don't need to water down milk either. But some GPs don't know this, as the advice used to be different!

Cheers for the advice, been to see the docter today, going to take in poo sample, no change in her diarrhea though...The doc recommended keep feeding her and cut out dairy products..
She is perfectly normal elsewhere, she is still eating and not dehydrated as she drinks plenty...Just have to ride this one out....
