So, why do DS's tonsils look like marbles?

Both sides. OK he's off school today with sore throat, barking cough, slight temperature.

But actually they look like this pretty much everytime I have had cause to look in his throat.

Should they be so huge? There's more tonsil than, um, hole. He is permanently ill: is that because of the tonsils, or the other way round.

And what does make so feckin huge?

My sons also are - GP and ENT speciallist (frequently seen due to glue ear) says very commong in children and only a problem when infected (when they will look very sore and inflamed)

Don't worry

OK thanks. So just ignore unless bright red and pus-filled? Yum grin

OTOH DNs were so swollen and huge permanently it pointed at other issues (including choking on not particularly huge chunks), and glue ear. He now has had his adenoids & tonsils out, and gromitts in..

P.S. his tonsils possible are large because of other illness as it is where a lot of immune cells are made. If he is ill he needs more immune cells.

DS also is now lacking his adenoids and on his second pair of grommits.

Vulpina - if your'e worried speak to your GP - we're just random people on the internet with different children and some shared experiences
