Noticed around 9-10 weeks ago.

Went to Dr's after first week and was told it was a skin infection...given ointment.

2 weeks later still no improvement went back told it was ezcema given steriod cream and told it would clear in 3-4 days.

Week later skin now burnt looking and peeling stopped cream immediately

Booked an appointment with my fav GP (She had been on hol previously) she diagnosed an inner eye infection and perscibed penicillin and an antibiotic cream. She said it was nothing untoward or serious

Eye improved noticably after 5-7 days, finished penicillin but continued with the cream

2 weeks later still eye not clear, skin underneath red, sore looking flaky. Took him back to see same GP who said it will go still use the cream 3-4 times a day.

Now a good 9-10 weeks on stil no better.

I just dont know what to do still got about 1/3rd of cream left to use

boneybones..not really supposed to use steroid cream around the eyes for longer than 3-4 days and even so it should be low dose like 0.5% cream. It causes thinning of the skin and the skin near the eye is really thin and fragile anyway. If it is no better after this time then i wouldnt use it. All that will happen is that when you stop ,it will come back with a vengeance. Maybe diprobase or doublebase could be better.

If antibiotics and antibiotic cream havent sorted it maybe doc needs to try a different antibiotic. What did he prescribe, flucloxacillin and fucithalmic eye ointment
