Can a child who has had MMR still get rubella

DD (2) spent the day with a child aged 15 mos who has come out with rubella today. DD had her MMR several months ago. Can she still get it, maybe a milder version?

yes, it@s possible to get any of the diseases vaccinated against

DS got mumps even though vaccinated but only got it mildly so still worth the vac imo

Not worried about her as she is a little toughie but am concerned about pg friends we have spent time with. I have let them know anyway.

Hopefully your pg friends had the single rubella jab as teenagers at school.

But yes, your DD could catch rubella as vaccinations are not 100% effective.

Anyway, chances are your DD's vac worked and chances are that your pg friends are vaccinated.

Huge sighs of relief. Baby's GP has confirmed it is a virus and not rubella. The little girl who has it is about due for her MMR and I am pretty sure they intend to have her vaccinated.
