Mumsnetters aren't necessarily qualified to help if your child is unwell. If you have any serious medical concerns, we would urge you to consult your GP.
he's had calpol/nurofen.and seen out of hours gp this afternoon...goes down and back up. now at 39....
Cool bath, helped DS last week.
strip down to just undies, cool flannel on head and neck
Call NHS direct or go to casulty? I would be worried about a high temp that wouldn't go down after calpol tbh.
Get in a tepid (not cold, but not hot) bath with him, and bathe him for at least 20 mins...if you have lavender oil put a few drops in, but only after you've turned the taps off.HTH
fan on low near where he sleeps?
His temp is high, but not scary high. Remember temps are the body's way of fighting infection. Keep him cool, but don't panic...
Thanks! He's just had about a pint of water! he drank it all at once. Have stripped him down/flannel on forehead.
