Spotty rash on little boys' bottoms

ds1 (nearly 7yo) and ds2 nearly 5yo) have both got a red spotty rash on their bottoms

ds1's has got a couple of white heads too

they say it's itchy

any ideas why it's there, and what I can put on it?

neither of them is dry at night yet but we use pullups and they've never been sore before

I know, it's dull

but should I use savlon? sudocrem? do they need to see the GP?

DS 6 occasionally has spotty bottom, have put EA 8 hour cream on but not remedied permanently. So watching..............

Sudocrem - 'tis magic potion!
If that does not work after a few days, try Canesten, sometimes these things are yeast related.

I've used sudocrem too and some french stuff in a yellow tube (?helpful?) but never really got to the bottom of them! (No pun intended!) I really don't know what to do about them either

sound like something similar to what my ds (3) has, we saw four doc's all with different outcomes (from "I don't know what it is" to "it's viral" to "it's a swimming rash"), it has finally been diagnosed as execma. The doctor only knew because he suffers with the same form, it's not your usual kind. It usually comes and goes and he only ever gets is on his bum.
he has special cream from the doc that clears it up in no time.
Get them to the docs for some cream.

Ahh, DS gets occasional exczema but never really worked out the pattern for that either - thanks!

My DS (age 7) also has been getting this - itchy spots above his crack and also itchiness under his scrotum.

Used some antiseptic calamine whch was in cupboard and that seems to clear it up, but them it comes back again.

I thought it might be hot weather/ sweat related.

But perhaps it's also Ezcema? There's no flakiness though - just itchiness?

my eldest 2 aged 3 and 4 also wear nappies/pullups at night still and get spotty bottoms.

it gets worse, then goes away, then comes back etc etc.

i took ds3 to the docs last week as he had what appeard to be weeping heatrash on his bottom which became horrific and painful in 4 days and doc gave me 'timodine' which cleared it by 50% overnight, then totally in 3 days.

i am going to try this on the eldest 2s bottoms tomorrow night and see what happens as have tried sudocrem, metanium and bepanthen on it.

I have googled Timodene, and netdoctor says the active ingredients are:

hydrocortisone
an anti-fungal
an antiseptic
a barrier

So based on that I am going to try hydrocortisone with sudocreme over the top, as we have those things, and hope it's not fungal!!!

incidentally i showed the rash to the health visitor and she said it was excema and to moisurise. I must admit to being at it being excema but we did moisturise and no joy.
