I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported me over the last few months, especially Elibean.
I've been waiting for results of my DS's tests for cystic fibrosis. After 2 sweat tests and now genetic testing, I finally got the result and they were negative. I cannot really put into words the sense of relief I feel. I feel like he's been given back the future we had planned for him.
It now seems that the most likely issue with DS is asthma. I still don't really know a huge amount about it but we know he has other allergies and we know he seems to respond to singulair. And although he's had a couple of chest infections and swine flu recently, he's the healthiest he's been for ages and his weight is back over the 9th centile for the first time since he was 4 months old (he's now almost 18 months).
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for listening. I hadn't been on MN for a while because I just had to shut myself off from anything children's health related so I could cope with the waiting but when things got bad, you were all here for me.
