One week old baby born on the 3rd and 10 year old DD has come down with chicken pox really badly, sent home from school on the 9th (Sure she had them when she was a toddler?)
I?m total freaked; I?m breastfeeding newborn and had chicken pox when I was a kid. Have been told that newborn is covered by my immunity.
Tonight I?m getting a rash on my face and have convinced my self Iv got shingles/second dose of chicken pox. Worried about newborn.

You ought to consult your GP -- this is standard advice if a baby under 4 weeks old is exposed to chicken pox. The breastfeeding will help, but it's not 100% protection (I've known ebf babies that age catch it).

Also worth getting your rash checked out -- if it is shingles (not specifically because of exposure to this bout of chicken pox, but your immune system will have taken a bit of a knock right now and with a poxy 10yo and a newborn you must be pretty stressed, so ideal conditions for a shingles flare-up) then antivirals NOW will make a big difference to how nightmarish your next two weeks are.

och you poor thing, you should be all lovey dovey with the baby and here you are in this pickle. i'd definitely consult the gp as a matter of urgency, esp if was P&L says there's a chance of something that might head off a shingles or similar episode. (although it might be nothing, fingers crossed.) congratulations on your new baby, i hope everything's fine for you. poor dd, i hope she feels better soon.

if the spots are around your mouth area it could be hand foot and mouth which can resemble chicken pox.

I had threatened CP exposure last week in last week of pregnancy and so saw GP who said the child and baby must be kept away from one another entirely. He also recommended using masks in the meantime.

Sorry you are dealing with this with a newbon.

Its a bloody coldsore on my chin!?! Never had one there befor. As I left the GP some wee A on a BMX bike ran into me and baby.I managed to turn my body and fall with out baby in sling from getting hert.Bit shaken up, my elbow was bleading and I thought it was the baby, GP came running out and help me and baby back into surgry.Baby is unharmed thank god.I used to be a bit of a tom boy years back and know how to fall corectly.Feel like Iv got wip lash ontop of everything elce.
It was my first time out with baby alone.
GP and lovely receptionists Put me in treatment room with surgered tea until DH come over from work(His first day back)I think Im going to have some bruses.
What a day, apart from one cry from baby as we went over, baby slept through the lot.
