I would say use piriton but haven't they now raised the age limit on it ?

Bicarb of soda in the bath

calomine if she'll let you

My dd1 had it at just over 2 and was fine other than a bit sweaty the first couple of nights. I went a bit stir crazy staying in though !

Good luck.

We had something to put in the bath. Think it was called Aveeno but it was a few years ago.

I think we used piriton - think it used to be ok for a 2 year old but the rules on that might have changed.

I used powdered calomine and oats in the bath (strained though a muslin). My dd had a temp of 105 and was really ill with it. Boys just fine though and only had new spots for three days unlike dd who had new spots for 6 days.

cut her nails really short to stop the scratching doing too much damage.

If she feels well (my 2yo dd did), distract her from the itching by giving her lots of new exciting things to do with her hands - you'll be stuck indoors anyway.

Threading beads (or cheerios/hoola hoops) onto string, new puzzles, sticky pictures (eg. cutting out pics of food from junk mail and sticking on round paper plates to feed all the teddies, making single colour collages out of all the black/red/pink/etc pictures she can find in your old magazines, colouring books and sticker books....

Lots of long leisurely baths with bicarb, it will probably be the place she'll be most comfortable.

Hope she feels better soon
