What is the matter with my dd?? I am confused

DD started being violently sick Sunday night, lasted about 5 hours, was quiet Monday and Tuesday and wouldnt eat hardly anything. Tuesday night was violently sick again, Wednesday very quiet again wouldnt eat, stomach swollen, pain in hips. We went to emergency doc Wed night who sent her to the hospital for urine tests, one test showed trace of something and trace of blood and one test was ok so sent away for culture.
Yesterday v quiet again, hardly eaten and then violently sick again last night. She does suffer from chronic constipation but seems ok on that respect at minute so i am sure it is not that. She seems ok then all of a sudden her stomach swells and it feels like theres a massive hard lump in the middle of it. I am very confused, any suggestions as of what this can be?

I'm not sure my dc have both had a sick bug this week but it only lasted 24 hours .

I think you should contact NHS direct or your GP again.

Hope she gets better soon.

Hmm. Strange. What colour is the vomit?

The vomit is brown. Have contacted the hospital again and the urine results are expected back tomorrow because they wanted to grow the culture. If that comes back negative and she is still vomiting by monday she has to go in for some more tests, so i guess its just wait and see. Its very strange

If your DD suffers from chronic constipation I would consider a dairy allergy with regards to that. I know of so many children who have suffered with constipation and UTIs who have been helped by cutting out all dairy.

No idea what current vomiting is about, sorry.

Equally a wheat allergy can cause chronic constipation. I think it's a bit early to be thinking about allergies.

Wait for the hospital to do their tests, but don't hesitate to take her to A&E if you think you need to.

Do hope she's all right.

a blockage caused my constipation would/could cause vomitting but I would have thought that a dr would have felt it.

Could be a very nasty long lived virus.

I'd be tempted to take her back to A&E. Brown vomit is a very strong clinical indicator of a blockage in her intestine. What happens is the food gets stuck, the poo then backs up and it has to come out somewhere so it comes up as vomit. I really would take her to A&E.
I hope she's OK

Thanks everyone for your replys, i took her back to the gp who had a really good feel of her tummy and couldnt feel a blockage, her urine tests came back normal so can rule out uti, gp said if she is still being sick by monday take her back and they will run some more tests. She seems a bit better today she has started eating bits so just fingers crossed she doesnt throw it all up later, if she does i will take her to a & e

I'm so pleased she's on the mend. It's a worry isn't it!

Just a little update took dd to the gp again today and they have decided on a bowel infection and inflammation of the bowel, said symptoms should decrease over the next couple of weeks, if not take her back. I am still v concerned though as her stools are still yellow, her tum is still swollen and she keeps saying she has got a pain at the top of her tummy x

hmm. I think I'd be looking for her to see a gastroenterologist myself. It should really be looked into incase she's a celiac?

Hope she's on the mend soon.

I think thats why they have said to go back if the symptoms dont disappear in 2 weeks x
