Question about catching Chicken Pox

is it something that can pass children by if they are in super good health, even if they come into contact with someone contagious? Or is it something they are only likely to get if "run down".
I know this is hard to answer but I wondered if anyone has any thought on it.

no perfectly healthy children can and do catch it.

From my own experience I was rather unfit as a child (bad chest) and despite coming in contact with it numerous times - even being sent to play with spotty children, I didn't catch it until I was 15. It was horrible.
