Children's health

If someone could tell what kept DS4 up all night, crying, thashing and wything around ALL NIGHT so we got up at 5am I would be very grateful....

It was worse then having a newborn.
I lost count after going into him after 6 times....making it more then once an hour.

He was bit warm when we came downstairs, I sedated him gave him some calpol and he slept on teh sofa for about 1.5 hours.

Since he woke he's been as bright as a button. He's on his 2nd bowl of cereal and has eaten a slice of my toast too.

I feel like death of course....

What on earth could it have been???

If you find out, let me know. Mine goes through phases of doing this every night for weeks on end. Wind/teeth/phase of the moon, who knows?

He's nearly 2 FGS, he should be over all the wind and teething crap. All teh others were at this age...

Did he eat something a bit hard to digest before bedtime?
my LO is a nightmare if he has banana after about 4pm.

Just been sat here for 10minutes trying to rememebr what we had for dinner last night.....

Ummm chicken goujons which were a bit spicy, maybe it was that. No exposive poos thought which is the general effect.

He wants to go in the garden now, bloody cold out there though and I wantto stay here on the sofa!

Could he have an ear infection? Definitely, has caused my dd to have nights like this in the past. Hope you have a better night tonight.

thats what i'm thinking it is marchbunny.
he went to sleep for a while earlier but woke up crying again which has been a classic ear infection sympton with him in the past.

have an appt at the gps at5pm.

sorry about lake of capital, he's sitting on my lap atm and i'm trying to eat a sandwich too.
hows that for multi tasking????

Yep it's what us Mums are best at.

Ear infections always seem to cause more problems in the night. When my dd or ds's have had them, there is nothing you can do to comfort them - they sort of get all 'beside themselves'. Very distressing. Anyway hope the Dr's went ok and your son is not too unwell.

My youngest ds is 15 months, is awake a lot in the night at the mo as he cutting 4 doubles and suffers with severe constipation! The joys Here's to a good nights sleep.

DS4 has tonsilitus.

He got worse and worse as teh day went on, then spat the anti-bs all over me.

Bloody knackered, and now have a stinking cold all of my very own.

It might have triggered the dreaded NIGHT TERRORS! I recognise this as my daughter went through it at the age of 4 or 5. We found it really disturbing and at first, didn't know what it was. The worst thing we did was try to wake her up as that made her worse. The best thing to do, is sit by him, but out of sight to make sure he's not coming to any harm. The difference with night terrors is the child doesn't remember them in the morning like nightmares, which is prob why your DS seems fine in the morning. Best not to discuss the dreams with him, but find out if anything else is bothering him. With my DD1 she had seen Numberjacks for the first time and TOTALLY freaked out at the 'Problem Blob' (there were a lot of complaints of that programme freaking kids out but they didn't take it off air ) and this seemed to be the root cause. Maybe if your DS was ill that brought it on, unless you think he wasn't asleep when he was thrashing around? Anyway, It did pass after a couple of weeks and hopefully he won't have it again.

Ds has just started having night terrors, LTH.

I find numberjacks a bit sinister too colditz

I don't know but my DS wouldn't sleep for 3 hours last night unless I was sitting in the room. He cried if I shut my eyes

I'm going to bed now and hope we both have a better night lth

Hooo-rah!

he only woke once last night and I think that was because he'd managed to wedge himself up against the bed guard and couldn't roll back over.

He's still abit tetchy this morning but has had his anti-bs without spitting them out.

So, Ds4 was only awake once, I was awake on and off all night with a completely blocked nose, streaming eyes and banging head so still feel like death.
