Anyone else noticed how many wheezy children there are this Autumn?

Ds2's already had his first course of prednisolone when the salbutamol and pulmicort didn't work, next door's dd is on it too and there are at least three other under 5s I know locally who've had the same.

Am I just in a very pestilent area or is this a bad year???

DS is constantly prone to wheezy episodes. He's on his brown (steroid) inhaler 2-3 times a day and blue (salbutamol) when he shows signs of getting a cough or cold. He also gets nasal spray every morning - his hay fever seems to last all year!! I hate giving them to him as he's only 5, but they seem to do him good, and I can only go on the advice/reassurance of his asthma nurse and GP.

It's the weather. Alot of children get wheezy when the temperature drops because the cold doesn't allow their bronchioles to inflate properly. Or something like this.

My ds had this and the pharmacy only had 2 days of his 5 day course of prednisolene and struggled to get more in so I am guessing alot of children have it his autumn!
