so dd1 banged her head quite badly at about 6:15pm we have been to a and e who glued her cut and said she doesnt appear to have concussion but there can be delayed symptoms at times and i need to monitor her.

they gave me a leaflet saying that its fine for her to sleep but i should keep waking her to ensure she is 'rousable' but it doesnt say how often? i thought every two hours dh thinks this is too much

DS cut his head open 2 weeks ago and I woke him every two hours throughout the night. He had to squeeze my hand when I woke him to show he was awake...

2 hours is reasonable, but I would wake her hourly for the first few hours and as the night progresses and she is OK, less. do you know what to look for? I can run through it for you if you like?

oh she is over the moon kee27 she loved all the drama and the hospital gave her a teddy and a sticker for being brave. she gave me the sticker for being a brave mummy and not crying when they glued her head

i think ill do every hour untill dh goes to bed at miidnight then ill set my alarm for 4am as we are already past the first few hours and she is eating/drinking fine.

she had already had her dinner before she told my mum what she had done. she was worried she would get into trouble for banging grandads fishtank because she isnt allowed to jump near it so she didnt tell anyone what she had done

Well done your DD. On the other hand it took 5 people to hold my 4 year old DS down while he had his stitches.... The whole time he was shouting YOU'RE HURTING ME, YOU'RE HURTING ME...

He didn't get a sticker....

shesells, I would be happy if you set your alarm for 2 and 4, really a little lost sleep is nothing. I'm sure she'll be OK and if they were really concerned they'd have kept her in.
