IMPETIGO - Can I buy the cream over the counter ???

Dd1 (10) has woken up this morning with a big fluid filled spot on her nose, which looks exactly like when she impetigo before.

Can I get cream for it over the counter or do I have to go to the doctors ???

Oh and how likely is it that I will get it seeing as I used the same face towel as her yesterday ?

Apparently it is not Impetigo but a septic spot

Doc has given her oral AB's which would be fine if they didn't have penicillin in .

Xp claims he never knew dd was allergic to it

He has already given her one dose.

Luckily for him, when she had a reaction to it last time it was just a rash.

Have told him to go back to the doctors.

I had impetigo recently on my face and they didn't give me any cream, just oral ABs. Same for my DD2, though hers was on her arms and legs.

Hope she gets better soon.

Well dd1 has had impetigo before but I didn't see how it looked at the very start because it happened when she was on school trip to France.

By the time she came hom it just looked like a scabbed over blister.

Dd2 had it up her nose.

Nothing on dd's face at all last night and then she gets up and there is a pus/fluid filled spot on side of her nose, which has apparently got bigger as the day has gone on according to xp.

I have never heard of a septic spot, and googling it brings up nothing.

Tis making me want to clean the house though so it's not all bad LOL.

I had the cleanest house ever the week we had it - partly because I was at home more as I couldn't go to work (am LSA at a school) until I wasn't contagious and partly because I felt unclean
