Tracheal Tugging consistent but overall healthy and recovering?

Hello,

My 2.5 year old (33 month) daughter caught RSV, Adenovirus and mild pnemonia on December 1st 2019.

She had a hospital stay for 5 days then discharged when spo2 was good and overall she was getting better.

We have since seen a doctor on 3 different occasions in December and January and they are happy with her progress HOWEVER, she has had tracheal tugging the entire month.

She is not struggling for air, but she does need to catch her breath when exercising herself.

We have a specialist appointment with respirologist next week but my mind is having trouble keeping sane due to the tugging.

Before the focus was on her spo2 but now that it's good i am turned to focus on this tracheal tug.

Keep in mind she was quite healthy prior to all this and NEVER had any of these issues.

Thanks all for hearing me out.....it's been traumatizing.

** I am hoping this will all go away and that it simply takes time to heal from these 3 illnesses she had

sorry i forgot to formalize my question:

Have any of you parents gone through similar with Tracheal Tugging for this long but the child was overall quite healthy and did not need a hospital visit?

Sorry for the bump.

But hoping someone can chime in.

How long did it take your child to get over their tracheal tugging?

Is it possible that tracheal tugging can be visible for over 30 days during the child's healing process?

TO CLARIFY - We have a respirologist appointment next Tuesday but I am a concerned father none the less.

Thanks all for your time

Has she had a chest x Ray?

Hello yes she has had 2 xrays in December 2019.

They identified she had a mild pnemonia but other then that nothing else.

The last time we were at the hospital which was around December 27th 2019 the doctors did not feel a need to do another xray.

They said there was nothing that stood out for a reason to do another xray.

However once again here we are January 18th 2020 and she still has tracheal tugging.

She is acting normal and honestly getting stronger each day/week. We even have a spo2 monitor (oximeter) and her spo2 is constantly around 95-99%.

I would be lying though if i said the tracheal tugging didnt scare me.

i should add that aside from getting stronger each day physically and with her spo2, she still has a SLIGHT crackling noise when she inhales (the doctors are aware of this and that's why they referred us to a Respirologist (specialist) and the appointment is this coming Tuesday).

is there ANY parent that went through something similar?

praying the tugging for this long doesnt cause any permanent damage.

Just came across your post after desperately trying to find someone who had been through something similar. My 2 month old caught RSV and ended up with severe bronchiolitis. We are pretty sure he had something else possibly adenovirus before this. He is now 5 months but still needing constant oxygen, is tugging at the neck and has chest retractions. Other than his breathing, he seems perfectly happy/ healthy with feeding etc. Did your little one recover/ did they find out the reason for it?
