My 10 year on DS is having surgery tomorrow to remove Cholesteatoma from his ear. He is as expected very anxious, and im in a right pickle tbh . Its eroded his middle ear bones, but we wont know to what degree, till after the surgery, but some if not all will be removed. We are hopeful that the surgeon will be able to reconstruct the bones, but this depends on the extent of disease. At this stage priority is to get rid of the disease, not preserving hearing.
