Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my sons thumb please
(7 Posts)So as it says in the title, I notice these lumps on my sons thumb last weekend, they're like little bumps under his skin ... at the time I thought I'd get him looked at during the week, but as he doesn't say it hurts or itches I completely forgot about it until just now. So can anyone shed any light on what it might be please?? And most importantly should he see a doctor??
It's not too clear on the photos but if it's small blisters then maybe dyshidrotic eczema. I get it on two fingers during winter, it itches me when the blisters pop.
PonderLand Thank you, they do look slightly blister like.
Yeah they look like it from the picture, kinda shiny? They're really small and look like nothing much but sooo itchy at times and then they pop and spread when you itch them. I use sudocrem on it and that helps (I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do) It can easily get infected and it goes quite nasty - red angry looking, pus, scabs etc
I can't say for sure but it looks like something I had.. I ignored it (because that's what I always do!) and they went away. I'd always suggest Sudocrem and then a visit to the GP if they get worse/don't go away.
Pop in to a chemist and get them to have a look.
Thanks everyone, had visions of it being something I should have panicked about I'll take him to see the chemist today
