Why does my DD tend to vomit on holiday?

I've noticed a pattern that DD6, tends to have a night where she vomits when we have a short break somewhere in the UK. This has only happened on UK breaks rather than abroad, and not every time, but nearly every time. There is never a fever with it, she wakes up after being asleep, says she is going to be sick and then is sick once or twice. Fine the next day. Anyone have any ideas? We have put it down to over indulgence of junk food or that she is a thumb sucker. But she didn't have any junk food yesterday and this happened last night again. Could it be post travel sickness? She had a Kwell yesterday because we had long bus rides. She often has had a Kwell when we are away and she has been sick but not consistently so can't put it down to that. She also has Kwells when we are at home sometimes and isn't sick then. I'm just baffled because it seems more than coincidence now.

I've known kids do this when stressed. Is there someone that you go with she may not like or something you do she doesn't like?

No, can't see any sources of stress and it is at hotels rather than relatives. Always after long exciting days though, I hadn't thought of being overtired, but I think it is always after a very late night so that could well be it.

I don't know, I do this too. I don't generally consider myself a sicky person but every holiday will have one night where I have to get up and be sick, just the once. I'd put it down to the heat but we usually in UK too.

My daughter has something called cyclical vomiting syndrome.

We've worked out her triggers are being overtired combined with eating acidic food too close to bedtime. The other thing it could be is an abdominal migraine.

We make sure that we just don't keep her up too late and I kept a food diary too to work out the trigger.

My DD was like this when she was younger. OK on holidays but would always be sick if she slept over at her nan's. She would wake up In the night say she felt sick. Be sick ones or twice then be fine, so not a tummy bug.
She did develop anxiety in Yr 8 so I wonder if it was a touch of that.

My brother used to vomit when he was really excited/overwhelmed. Could it be travel sickness too if it's a long distance? Not sure if that can happen after travelling though, I only used to get it whilst in the car.

My daughter (nearly 6) is a bit like this tends to be on holiday/after family events/weddings etc. She is also a twin and her identical sister does t get it at all which is a bit odd. I took we to Gps and they said it might be reflux from change in eating pattern so we give her gavoscob before bed which seems to have sorted it..she did have bad reflux as a baby though so that might have been a pointer.
