Milk Intolerance?????????

DD,8 used to complain of frequent tummy aches (took her to GP who said it was nothing to be concerned about, "one of those things, she'll grow out of it"). Often she would seem most distressed at nighttime and I began to associate it with her being tired, as there was no other obvious reason (that I could see). She also had little patches of eczema that came and went. Nearly a year ago she wanted to become vegan. She was totally dedicated to veganism and I supported her. However, I became concerned that she was missing out on certain vitamins and recently persuaded her to become vegetarian. She ate cheese and ice-cream and that night had abdominal pain, diarrhoea and bloating. The next day we noticed a little area of eczema, which had gone completely when she was vegan. Could she be milk intolerant? I don't know much about this sort of thing - no allergies in the family - but it seems to be such a coincidence that her symptoms reappeared so dramatically after the reintroduction of milk to her diet. Otherwise she is very healthy indeed.

I've cut her back on large quantities of milk since and she's had a little discomfort, but nothing too severe. I'd read online that by taking blood sugar readings, drinking milk, then re-testing two hours later, you can get an idea of milk intolerance. We did this with a diabetic friend's glucometer this morning and her blood sugar level was exactly the same two hours after drinking a glass of milk. She did not have any tummy ache or physical symptoms, though, which I thought strange. I intend to take her to the doctor, but meanwhile, any thoughts?
