Warm to touch but no temp? 2yo

My two year old is NEVER ill and has slept through the night for the last year. Last two nights he’s woke on a few occasions and tonight he feels ROASTING hot all over his body from head to feet. Got Calpol and took his temp but it’s sitting normal at 37.7. He didn’t seem overly fussed and we took his vest/PJ trousers off and changed his sleep bag from higher tog to lower. His room temp is 19 which is kinda usual for our house. Just wondering why he feels roasting but it isn’t showing on thermometer? It’s a brand new one so don’t think it’s faulty. I know I sound over anxious but he’s honestly never ill so haven’t dealt with this before! He’s went back to bed no problem but now I can’t sleep! No other noticeable symptoms apart from a bit of a snuffle maybe?Has all his teeth except a few big molars I think. This has probably been a really pointless thread with obvious answer but at this time of the day (with an 8week old too) my brain isn’t functioning very well! Any advice would be much appreciated (however obvious it may be!) x

37.7 is not normal... 36.8 is normal so your child has a raised temperature albeit not sky high .maybe the seat of it will become clear today

Teeth could easily be doing it

Anything above 37.5 is considered a fever. 37.7 is a mild fever, but unless he is showing signs of discomfort or it increases, there is little to worry about. And this will likely be the first of many little bugs he will pick up.

My 1 yo DS has been like this on and off for a couple of weeks. Nursery equally puzzled, and also finding his temp normal when it's taken, so not a fault with my thermometer.

Have noticed that it seems to precede a(nother) minor cold, which he seems to.m be suffering one after another at the moment. He's also teething!

Second molars come through at 2 years - my 1 year old has had a low grade fever (37.5-38c) for a few days now, and is cutting 3 (!!!) of his molars at once. He usually sleeps through the night but that's gone out the window for the last 3 nights. He doesn't feel roasting but he's certainly warmer than usual.

I've been treating with fluids, calpol/profen. Not much you can do really but wait it out and hope they come soon!

I salute you for getting to 2 years without an illness though! My sons had a constant cold since August as he's been at nursery Grin

It might be a sign he's teething. Also check if he has cold as this kind of temp could precede cold.
