Squints

Dd1 has a squint, diagnosed at 3 patched on and off for 3 years, vision is stable. It's not ever so noticeable when she's looking in the distance (with her glasses on), But very in her near vision.

I've been told that they won't operate because of the difference in the squints because any operation is very likely to result in her squint being much more noticeable in her far vision. So the advice is to wait and see what happens.

But I'm very concerned as she gets older she's going to hate having the squint and be so self conscious of it. Does anyone have any experience or advice?

I have the opposite dialema, DD is 7, worn patches this year but glasses prescription is much weaker now vision has improved. Was offered surgery to correct squint and told it’s unlikely DD would need to wear glasses as she is only wearing them to correct squint. I’m not sure what to do either! smile
