Does this look infected to you?

Dd is 3 and has a flea bite that is very sore and the redness is spreading. Rang gp this morning and been advised to go to a chemist instead.

Yes, but if you keep it clean you should be grand.

I had a spider bite a few weeks back. Itched like a MF and was really sore.
Also weeped.

It did go in it's own time.

Thank you!

I've cleaned it and covered in savlon.

Hopefully she'll leave it alone

I would take her to a chemist. Antihistamines and germoline in the meantime.

I'm going to say no - but then I ( and DS) react to many insect bites this way. they can be very painful and itchy, and swell considerably. Stick with the savlon in case, but could you try some form of antihistamine as well - either cream or medicine, as that can help reduce the symptoms that will keep making her scratch, thereby reducing the risk of infection.

As above - chemist will advise of need to see a doc / antibs. I had a wasp sting that went nasty and it was the chemist who sent me to the walk-in clinic.

Draw around the redness so you can keep an eye on it. If she gets a temp or it spreads or she is unwell then abx
