So my son is 9 months old and blw so he eats with his hands. He cut his bottom 2 teeth last week and since then has had a permanent 'scratch' scrap type thing just near his fingernail on his finger... tonight I witnessed where from! Whilst eating his tea he is scraping his fingers on his teeth and biting his fingers and cutting them! I've spoke to a few people and nobody has had this happen to their babies! His fingers are so sore :( will attach pics although difficult to get some! Just looking for reassurance this has happened to other people's and any tips for keeping them clean/preventing infection! Thank you

Oh that does look sore. Mine have all chewed their fingers. Not quite to that extent but definitely chewed. I would make sure you clean it well after he has eaten and then put some nipple cream or similar on. Will heal it quickly and is safe for him to put in his mouth

DS2 is a thumb sucker and quite often has a crack/cut in the thumb due to him grinding his bottom teeth into it while sucking his thumb. I put a bit of Lansinoh on it - it acts as a barrier and is safe for him to ingest. Usually helps it to heal pretty well too.
