Thick yellow phlegm in morning

My 12 yr old dd is completely fine in herself but for these past few weeks, some mornings she cough up a lump of thick yellow phlegm from the back of her throat. It only occurs in the morning and doesn't happen during the day or at night. She does get hayfever so could it be from her nose?
