Precocious puberty 7 year old

Hi,

My dd1 has had varying degrees of body odour since she was 5.
Six months ago when she was six and a half i noticed dark pubic hair. It had probably been there for a few months before that.
She's had lanker hair, been growing like crazy and had the odd spot.

No breast buds though, which is apparently the main indicator of precocious puberty.

After a visit to a paediatrician last month he said it was probably nothing to worry about and more likely to be premature adrenarche. However he referred her for an ultrasound on her pelvis to rule anything out.

We had the ultrasound on saturday and the sonogropher said my dd had large visible ovaries which is very unusual as usually at that age you can hardly see them.
She also said they possibly looked 'active'.

She's sending a report to our gp but i can't see the doctor until wednesday.

I've tried googling but can't find anything apart from the odd complicated medical paper, with regard to large ovaries in young girls.

Does anyone have any experience of this particular result on ultrasound?
Is this likely to be an indicator of precocious puberty?

Thanks.

Hi OP,
My Dd (now 10) had premature adrenarche, now at the normal age for puberty so no longer being seen by the consultant.

Here is my thread on the subject:

I hope you find it useful.

Hope all turns out ok with your Dd Flowers - mine had a little bullying at school but she is ok now.

Thank you so much.

Am off to read those links now.

If any medical person has any clues, I'm all ears!
