Hi,

Three weeks ago I noticed that my 3Yo had some itchy spots on her side and the inside of her arm. I then noticed she had an eczema type patch on the armpit, so I thought maybe the spots weren't bites, but something dermatological.

I took dd to the paediatrician who said they were bites, possibly fleas Confused, and prescribed no treatment as they weren't too itchy (dd has sensitive dry skin and can get itchy at night, so when asked I didn't think the itch was too bad).

A few days later, I noticed the itch hadn't improved (mainly at night) so I got some itch relieving cream at the pharmacy (without antihistamines), but I have now realised that this has been going on for 3 weeks and dd is still quite itchy.

Could this be eczema? It didn't look like it to me because the spots have little heads that then seem to dry out (although sometimes they look like they are getting fresher again). I'm taking her to the paediatrician again, but any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pixie, I guess it's possible, although my niece had them and they looked very different to Dd's if I recall correctly.
