Hi,

My newborn was born with very red skin and after 1 week it hasn't changed at all.

Is this normal? And does it change at all?

I've been reading online and some parents mentioned their babies had red skin when they had ruddy jaundice but none of the midwives have mentioned any cause for concern when looking at her.

My other children were very fair at birth so I'm worried about why this one is so red.

Congratulations on your new baby!

Have you got a Health Visitor? I think you should ask her about it...some babies are just redder than others. Maybe this one has a different skin tone...I have two DDs and one is milky white and the other very olive.
